United Care
A solar system is not a once-off purchase. It is a piece of plant on your roof, and it does better when somebody is watching it.
What the plan does
United Care is a monthly plan. We watch your system remotely, send you a report every month, come out on a schedule to clean and check it, and respond when something goes wrong — including the arguing with manufacturers that a warranty claim usually involves.
- Remote monitoring of generation and battery health
- A performance report every month
- Scheduled cleaning and inspection visits
- Fault response when the system stops doing what it should
- Warranty handling with the manufacturers, on your behalf
Whether we installed the system or somebody else did.
What happens on a service visit
Every visit follows the same checklist, and the technician uploads the report and the photographs the same day — so you can see what was done, not just that somebody came.
- Visual inspection of panels, mounting, cabling, inverter and battery
- Panel cleaning
- Torque check of accessible connections, and a thermal check of the DB and inverter terminals
- Inverter and battery firmware and settings check, with the logs downloaded
- Earth continuity and RCD test
- A check that the monitoring platform is still reporting properly
- Anything that needs repair, written up and quoted — never done on the day without your say-so
What it costs
Per month, by the kind of system. The big number excludes VAT, the way the quote builder shows it; the line underneath is what leaves your account.
Residential
R 350 per month
R 402 including VAT
Houses and townhouses
Luxury residential
R 550 per month
R 633 including VAT
Estates, large homes, all-black finish
Commercial
R 1 200 per month
R 1 380 including VAT
Small to medium business, three-phase
Month to month. The plan covers the labour, the monitoring and the reporting — parts and any repair work are quoted separately before we do them, so a plan never turns into a bill you did not agree to.
We did not install it. Does that matter?
No. United Care is open to systems installed by other companies, and a good number of ours are. We start with an inspection so we know what we are taking on and you get an honest account of the state of it — including anything that should be put right before the plan starts. If that inspection turns up a problem, you get a quote for it; you are not obliged to take it, and you are not obliged to take the plan either.
Getting started

- We inspect itA technician goes through the same checklist as a service visit and reports on what is there.
- You get the plan and the priceWhich tier it falls into, what the monthly is, and anything we think should be fixed first.
- It startsMonitoring from day one, your first report at the end of the month, and visits on a schedule from there.
Have a system that nobody is watching?
Tell us what you have and we will tell you what looking after it costs — and whether it needs anything first.
Ask about United Care See everything we doQuestions we get asked
What is United Care?
A monthly plan that keeps a solar system working: remote monitoring of generation and battery health, a performance report every month, scheduled cleaning and inspection visits, fault response, and warranty handling with the manufacturers on your behalf.
Will you maintain a system another company installed?
Yes. United Care is open to systems installed by other companies. We inspect the system first so we know what we are taking on, and you get a written account of its condition.
What does a service visit cover?
A visual inspection of panels, mounting, cabling, inverter and battery; panel cleaning; a torque check of accessible connections and a thermal check of the DB and inverter terminals; an inverter and battery firmware and settings check with the logs downloaded; an earth continuity and RCD test; and a monitoring platform check. The report and photographs are uploaded the same day.
Are repairs included in the monthly fee?
No. The plan covers the monitoring, the reporting and the service visits. Parts and repair work are quoted separately and only done once you agree to them.
What does United Care cost?
It depends on the system. Residential, luxury residential and commercial systems each have their own monthly price, listed on the United Care page excluding VAT. It is month to month.
Do I need United Care if United Solar installed my system?
No, it is optional. Your installation and its warranties stand on their own. United Care is for the watching, cleaning and checking afterwards, which is what keeps a system producing what it was designed to produce.
